In this presentation, the presenter will discuss common primary treatments for hyperlipidemia and hypothyroidism. This will include a review of medication options, lifestyle modifications, and risk reduction for special populations. This lecture will also include common medication management of hypothyroidism and recommendations for monitoring labs after initiation of treatment and review of dose adjustments.

Learning Objectives:
·    Review current guidelines in the treatment of hyperlipidemia
·    Compare medication treatment options for hyperlipidemia
·    Recognize the role of lifestyle modifications in the treatment of hyperlipidemia
·    Explain how to manage lipid-lowering agents and their side effects
