Alcohol Abuse and Other Common Substance Use Disorders: Combination Dangers


In this presentation, Dr. Iszard will review alcohol abuse and other common substance use disorders. The presenter will review risks, side effects, and the latest treatment options for substance abuse disorders. 

Objectives:

1. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of alcohol and opioid use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.

2. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of alcohol and benzodiazepine use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.

3. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of cocaine and alcohol use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.

4. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of alcohol and opioid use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.

5. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of fentanyl and cocaine use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.

6. Learners will develop a pharmacologic and toxicologic rationale and understanding of the combination effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine use disorder on metabolic/physiologic systems in adults.
