Description

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) has teamed with the state osteopathic associations in Iowa, Maine, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington to offer this Simply CME Event. Registrants must be paid members of one of these six state osteopathic associations to receive the member rate. This virtual event promises to offer physicians the flexibility to attend a LIVE Event Virtually and/or access this event On-Demand for 45 days after the live event concludes. This event is worth eight (8) AOA Category 1-A Credits and eight (8) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. If you choose not to participate in the live event, you may complete the entire event on-demand at a later date and time that fits your schedule. This event will consist of eight (8) pre-recorded presentations, but the speakers will be live on the day of the event to answer questions on the discussion forum.

The Simply CME #5 event will go On-Demand on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 8:00 am CST. Registration to complete this event On-Demand will end on Monday, December 13, 2021 at midnight. Registrants have until Monday, January 3, 2022, at midnight to complete this Simply CME Event On-Demand. Attendees' AOA CME credits will be reported to the AOA by Wednesday, January 19, 2022. If attendees need their certificate before this date, please call the MAOPS office at (573) 634-3415. This event offers great flexibility because you can watch some or all of the lectures live on Saturday, November 13, 2021, or on-demand at a later date. Please e-mail any questions or comments about this virtual event to Jeff Buthod.

This program is co-sponsored by the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association, Maine Osteopathic Association, Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, Ohio Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon, and the Washington Osteopathic Medical Association. Each is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

This program has been designated for a maximum of eight (8) AOA Category 1-A credits by the co-sponsors who have authorized the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons to report CME and specialty credits to the AOA commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

MAOPS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

MAOPS designates this conference for a maximum of eight (8) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AOA Grievance Policy: Initially, all grievances should be directed to the MAOPS Executive Director, who will forward said grievance to all co-sponsoring states executive directors. All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance.  Initially, all grievances should be directed to MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee.  All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt.  If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, they can then submit a complaint in writing to the Council on Continuing Medical Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Dr. Cassandra White is a 2012 graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, New York. After earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a concentration in economics, she completed a post-graduate year-1 pharmacy practice residency at the VA Maine Healthcare System in Chelsea, Maine. Dr. White began her career in academia at Husson University, Bangor, Maine, in 2013 and was promoted to Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in 2019.

Dr. White started her career in 2005 as a pharmacy technician. Over time, she gained experience working at various pharmacies. She is board certified as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and a Geriatric Pharmacist by the American Pharmacists Association. Dr. White is also a member of the Maine Pharmacy Association, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and American Pharmacists Association. She was on the Board of Directors for the Maine Pharmacy Association for five years and served as President from 2016 through 2019.

Dr. White is the proud recipient of multiple awards and honors.  These include the HUSOP Teaching Excellence Award for Pharmacy Practice (2020), P2 Teacher of the Year (2020), P4 Teacher of the Year (2016, 2020), National Community Pharmacists Association Pharmacy Leadership Award for Maine (2018), Distinguished Young Pharmacist for Maine (2016), HUSOP Faculty Preceptor of the Year (2016), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year (2016), and Who's Who of American Universities (2012). She represents Husson University College of Health and Pharmacy as a clinical pharmacist for Maine Dartmouth Geriatric Medicine in Augusta, Maine. Dr. White is extremely passionate about her work and believes that teaching pharmacy students and serving patients in the community is her calling in life.

Dr. White is a former soccer and basketball player at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and competed on three division championship teams during her collegiate career. She is an avid runner and completed a full marathon in 2015. Dr. White has finished 21 triathlons with her sister. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
