The Osteopathic Approach - Presentation #1 combines three workshop presentations on the uniquely osteopathic approach in the clinical management of knee pain, low back pain, and obesity and weight loss. These workshops focus on applying osteopathic principles in the clinical management of the covered conditions, including osteopathic manipulative treatment of somatic dysfunction that may be encountered in patients with these conditions.

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 3.75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation.

Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsä.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) and the National Center for Osteopathic Principles in Education (NCOPPE). MAOPS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Gary L. Bruning, DO, MS, is an assistant professor at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) and serves as the residency director for the NRMC Family Medicine program. He graduated from ATSU-KCOM in 1983 and completed his residency at the Eisenhower Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. He practiced rural medicine for 30 years, 22 years of which he was employed by Avery Health Systems in South Dakota prior to coming back to Kirksville. Dr. Bruning enjoys doing multiple procedures, including endoscopy, multiple different kinds of joint injections, as well as utilizing OMM in all his years of practice.
