Howard Glass, DO, FACC, FACOI

Dr. Howard Glass is presently serving as Chief of Cardiology at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon. He is board certified in Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Dr. Glass is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Zieger-Botsford Osteopathic Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan and his fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan.  He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.

Before moving to his current position in Oregon, he was a Clinical Professor in Cardiology at the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, where he taught from 1989 to 2016. He was on staff at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine as a member of the division of cardiology for twenty-five years while practicing general invasive, non-interventional cardiology. Dr. Glass has lectured extensively at numerous osteopathic conventions. He has been involved in clinical cardiac research and participated in various National Institute of Health (NIH) sponsored trials, with the most recent being a wearable stethoscope.

He lives with his wife, Pam. Together, they have five children and two grandchildren. He has sailed the Maine coast in his 32-foot sloop, Simbaya, and enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and reading.
