This session discusses pulmonary hypertension as a cause of dyspnea and syncope while discussing how it is different from pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Learning Objectives:
·    Identify pulmonary hypertension as a cause of dyspnea and syncope 
·    Differentiate pulmonary arterial hypertension from pulmonary hypertension 
·    Review the REMS program and drug monitoring

The Montana Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credit and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Dr. Kumar graduated medical school from Kasturba the Medical College at Manipal University before completing his internal medicine residency at Medstar Washington Hospital Center at Georgetown University. After residency, Dr. Kumar completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at The University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Following this, Dr. Kumar completed his sleep medicine fellowship also at The University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

Dr. Kumar is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) as well as in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and neurocritical care.  He is also a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

When not working, Dr. Kumar enjoys soccer, skiing, and hiking.
