MOPAC contributions are used to support legislative candidates supportive of the profession, physicians and patients. MOPAC contributions are not tax deductible.
MAOPS has the only osteopathically sponsored physician health program in the nation, and the Wetzel Foundation is responsible for the funding. This program assists physicians, students and physician extenders who have emotional and/or substance abuse issues preventing them from practicing at their fullest potential. The goal of the PHP is to assist these people in their efforts to return to patient care. Donations made to the Wetzel PHP program are tax deductible.
This fund provides financial awards to those students and residents selected into the Wetzel Scholar and Fellow programs. Scholars can earn up to $3,000 annually in scholarships and fellows can earn up to $15,000 upon completion of their program. The purpose of the programs is to identify future leaders for the profession who intend to practice in the state of Missouri. Typically, two or three scholars and one or two fellows are selected annually. Donations made to the Wetzel Scholarships and Fellowship Program are tax deductible.
Donations made to the Unrestricted Wetzel Fund can be used for any purpose that the Board of Trustees designates. Donations made to this fund are tax deductible.
