Learning Objectives:
·    List pediatric clinical conditions that may benefit from OMM.
·    Discuss the integration of osteopathic principles and the current research regarding the use of osteopathic manipulative techniques in the management of common pediatric clinical presentations.
·    Describe and demonstrate palpatory and manipulative treatment skills pertinent to the osteopathic management of common pediatric clinical presentations.

Accreditation Statement: Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A CME credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Karen Snider, DO, FAAO, FNAOME, is a professor at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM). Dr. Snider is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and she completed her residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center. Dr. Snider has earned fellowship awards from the American Academy of Osteopathy and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators.

Dr. Anna Esparham is board certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Medical Specialties, in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties, and in Medical Acupuncture by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture. She is also certified in Clinical Hypnosis and Aromatherapy. Dr. Esparham is starting her fellowship in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Esparham is the physician owner of Empowered Wellness in Kirksville, Missouri. She is also an Associate Professor and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She recently left her position as the Medical Director at the Headache Treatment Center for Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She built the first-of-its-kind Headache Treatment Center as the Medical Director and Associate Professor at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Esparham received her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Kansas, Kansas City, Kansas, in 2009. She completed her residency in pediatrics in 2012 and her fellowship in Integrative Medicine in 2013, both at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is also the Founder of Health Is PowHer's Podcast to support women in need of deep healing. Dr. Esparham received the Faculty Innovation Award in 2022, the Clinical Excellence Award in 2020, and the Rising Star Award in 2018 from the Division of Neurology at Children's Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Esparham is married and has a son. She also has some dogs and chickens. She enjoys homesteading, hiking, reading, painting by numbers, podcasting, and journaling in her free time. An interesting tidbit about Dr. Esparham is after college, she wanted to be a wildlife biologist, but no jobs were available. Her goal in life is to build a wildlife refuge one day.
