Benjamin Skoch, DO, MBA


Dr. Ben Skoch is an Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He has served in this role since completing his fellowship in 2018. Dr. Skoch received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 2014 from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, now known as Kansas City University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) in Kansas City. He also received his Masters in Business Administration in Health Care Leadership from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2017. He then completed his Hospice and Palliative Care fellowship with the University of Kansas Health System. Dr. Skoch is board certified in Family Medicine with an added qualification in Palliative Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Skoch spends his clinical time in both the inpatient setting, working with patients with a variety of serious illnesses, and the outpatient setting, where he sees patients with cancer diagnoses from a palliative care perspective. He is passionate about improving the quality of life to help patients live better with serious illness.

Dr. Skoch's professional interests include the education of medical students, residents, and fellows through bedside instruction and didactic learning. Dr. Skoch also enjoys lecturing to various professional societies locally and regionally. When he isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Angela, and their four young children.
