Jane Balbo DO


Dr. Jane Balbo is an Osteopathic Family Physician and an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM) in Athens, Ohio. She teaches the following topics: STIs, Sexual Health, and LGBTQ Health. Dr. Balbo is in clinical practice at OhioHealth Campus Care at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, providing comprehensive primary care to Ohio University students. She is a 2007 graduate of OUHCOM. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and her OMM/NMM Residency at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. Dr. Balbo is board certified in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (OMM/NMM) by the American Osteopathic Board of  Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. She is also board certified in Family Medicine and OMT by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Dr. Balbo's interests include patient-centered contraception counseling, sexually transmitted infections, women's health, training students and physicians to be skilled in the provision of affirming medical care for transgender and gender diverse people, LGBT health, college students health, OMM, and integrative medicine.

Dr. Balbo is passionate about birds and native plants. She enjoys spending as much time outside as possible.
