Mary Jo Martin, MD

Mary Jo Martin, MD, MT (ASCP), is an assistant professor at KCU on the Joplin campus in the Department of Pathology & Anatomical Sciences. She is one of the original faculty hired for the opening of the Joplin campus. She has been teaching medical students and residents for 20 years.

Dr Martin obtained her BS in medical technology from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown WV, and was employed as a medical technologist for 9 years. She obtained her MD at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington WV. Dr Martin completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, fellowship in Legal Medicine (Forensic Pathology), and fellowship in Neuropathology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA. She was employed as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Pathology department at VCU and was a Medical Examiner in the Central District of Virginia. Dr Martin was an assistant professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk VA before joining KCU.
