Preston Howerton, DO
Dr. Preston Howerton received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine, now known as the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at the Medical Center of Independence in Independence, Missouri. He completed additional post-graduate training at the United States Air Force Aerospace Medicine training facility and was an active-duty flight surgeon. Since completing his active duty with the Air Force, Dr. Howerton has worked as a primary care and emergency room physician since 2007. Dr. Howerton is the Chief Medical Officer for HCC Network in Lexington, Missouri, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health Chief Medical Officer at the Marshall Habilitation Center in Marshall, Missouri. He is also an ER Physician at EMCare and Legacy Group at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.
Dr. Howerton is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Missouri State Osteopathic Association. He is certified in advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Combat Casualty Care.
Dr. Howerton has been married to his wife, Kerri, for 15 years. She is a chiropractic and functional medicine physician. They have three beautiful children who are actively involved in various sports and activities. Dr. Howerton is highly involved with coaching his son's travel baseball teams. Dr. Howerton is a pilot and enjoys traveling with his family. He is an avid Chiefs fan and enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and soccer. Dr. Howerton also is involved with a specialty school for those with developmental disabilities.
