Learning Objectives:
•    
Learners will analyze and identify patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
•    Learners will employ effective management strategies for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
•    Learners will help coordinate a team of health and social service professionals to develop a treatment plan for patients with acute psychiatric crises.
•    Learners will incorporate and employ patient and staff protocols, management strategies, medication management, and treatment options when treating patients with acute psychiatric crises.

Accreditation Statement: This program is co-sponsored by the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) and the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon (OPSO). Both osteopathic associations are accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

The program has been designated for a maximum of one (1) AOA Category 1-A credit(s) by the co-sponsors who have authorized the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons to report CME and specialty credits to the AOA commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.  

MAOPS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Arpit Aggarwal, MD Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Arpit Aggarwal received his medical degree from B.J. Medical College in Pune, Ahmedabad, India. He completed his residency in Psychiatry and his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Missouri and is currently the Medical Director of the Psychiatry Emergency Services. Dr. Aggarwal also serves as the Training Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Missouri.

Dr. Aggarwal is board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also board certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Aggarwal has made several publications, posters, presentations, and media appearances. His honors include being named the Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2021 and receiving the MUPC Leadership Award at the University of Missouri in 2017.
