Ms. Teresa Martin, MS, RD, CDCES, LD


Ms. Teresa Martin is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition, including clinical nutrition, community nutrition, diabetes research, and, most currently, as a clinical educator for healthcare professionals in the field of diabetes. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dietetics and minors in Math and Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Martin is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition from SAGE College in Troy, New York. Over the last 12 years, she has specialized in the field of Diabetes. As a certified diabetes educator, Ms. Martin helps individuals that have diabetes learn how to manage their disease and how to live a healthier, more balanced life. Ms. Martin is also teaching healthcare professionals ways to manage their patients with diabetes better so they can help them meet their quality diabetes measures and prevent long-term complications with their patients.  

Ms. Martin is the Co-President of the Oregon Association of Diabetes Educators. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the American Academy of Diabetes Educators, and the Academy of Nutrition. She is also a Licensed Dietitian in the state of Oregon.

Ms. Martin believes that physical activity is the “magic bullet” for both mental and physical wellness for her patients, herself, and her family. She has lived and continues to live an active lifestyle. She was an All-American Volleyball Player and All-American Alpine Ski Racer in College. She ran the Boston Marathon as a non-qualifying runner in 1992 and continues to play competitive doubles sand volleyball. She lives in Bend, Oregon, and has three wonderful children. They all enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, canoeing, hiking, biking, swimming, and exploring the beautiful Northwest.

Ms. Martin believes life’s challenges should be met head-on and that everyone has the ability to make lifelong lifestyle changes. She values utilizing the outdoors, mindfulness, and the power of communities to help individuals find their path to a healthier, happier life.

Ms. Martin discloses that she is a diabetes educator for Novo Nordisk. All relevant financial relationships have been mitigated.
