David Cleaver, DO, FAOCD, FAAD


Dr. David Cleaver was born in San Diego, California. He graduated from AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, in 2006. He completed his internship at Richmond Heights/Case Western University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his Dermatology training at St. Joseph Mercy Health System of Michigan State University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2010. Dr. Cleaver then returned home to Kirksville, Missouri, to join his father's practice in 2010. Dr. Cleaver is board certified in Dermatology and Mohs Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. 

Dr. Cleaver is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine/A.T. Still University. He is the Third Vice-President for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. In addition, he is currently the Program Director for the dermatology residency training program at Northeast Regional Medical Center/Still OPTI, in Kirksville, Missouri.

Dr. Cleaver practices general dermatology and is interested in rural dermatology and psoriasis. He performs many different types of dermatological surgery.  He has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology, including botulinum toxins, dermal fillers, and multiple types of lasers.

Dr. Cleaver and his wife have a daughter and son, and he enjoys spending all his free time with them. 

Dr. Cleaver discloses that he is a promotional speaker for AbbVie and Pfizer. He also discloses that he is compensated as a researcher for AbbVie, Castle Biosciences, Regeneron, and UCB. In addition, he discloses he is a consultant for Castle Biosciences, Pfizer, and UCB. All relevant financial relationships have been mitigated.
