Dr. Thompson was then recruited to Iowa to help grow the transplant program at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She is also an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa.

Dr. Thompson's philosophy of care is to approach every patient as a whole being rather than a collection of diseases. She also recognizes that an informed patient is an engaged patient, so she makes an extra effort to make sure the patient understands their diagnosis and the reasoning behind the plan of care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.  She especially enjoys vising national parks.

Dr. Thompson discloses that she has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
