Andrew Dawson, DO
Dr. Andrew Dawson is in private practice and owns Hope Headache and Neurology in Wentzville, Missouri. He was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Dawson's route to medicine is a unique one. After graduating from Hazelwood Central High School, he headed to the University of Missouri in St. Louis, where he earned his Bachelor's in Music Education. After graduation, Dr. Dawson taught strings at McCluer High School and stack to students from grades 4 to 12. While teaching, the science bug hit him, and he started attending St. Louis University, where he earned his Master's in Organic Chemistry. He then attended medical school at A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Dawson did his Neurology residency at Michigan State University at Garden City Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He trained under the esteemed neurologist Dr. Anne Pawlak. He then completed a fellowship at the acclaimed John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he focused on headache neurology. Dr. Dawson is board certified in Neurology by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also board certified as a Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
As any true St. Louisan, Dr. Dawson loves his Cardinals and Blues. If he is not at the clinic or watching games, he can be found listening to his favorite teams while playing with his homemade 3D Printer, his custom lasers or out fishing.
