Brandon Barthel, MD

Dr Brandon Barthel is a practicing endocrinologist at University Health in Kansas City, Missouri. He is also an Assistant Professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is affiliated with Truman Medical Center Hospital and University Health Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Barthel graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine in 2010. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the UMKC School of Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Barthel is particularly interested in type 1 diabetes, diabetes technologies, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. Dr. Barthel was the Teacher of the Year for the UMKC Endocrinology Fellowship.
