Brett A. Moore, DO, FAAP

MU Pediatrics

Dr. Brett Moore is a pediatrician who is an Associate Professor of Clinical Child Health with the University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri. He has a professional and personal interest in autism. For the past four years, he has been helping diagnose children with autism and helping families navigate life after the diagnosis.  He participates in several ECHO Autism programs, including being on the hub team for a family advisory group and a group of providers involved in early intervention.

Dr. Moore has a seven-year-old son with autism. As a physician, he has learned so much about autism, but his son has taught him so much more.  He uses this experience to help families who have a newly diagnosed child with autism. Due to his personal experience, Dr. Moore can let them know what they can expect (to a degree, as all children with autism are unique in their own way). He has been on parent panels for Easterseals Midwest, where he talked to professionals and parents about what it is like to have a child with autism and the joys and struggles he experienced.

Dr. Moore received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He graduated medical school from AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, in 2003. Dr. Moore completed his residencies in Family Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri. He is board certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Moore discloses that he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
