Jarrad Morgan, DO, JD

Dr. Jarrad Morgan is originally from Walla Walla, Washington. As a young man, he moved from Washington State to Grinnell, Iowa, where he attended the aptly named Grinnell College in Grinnel, Iowa. He majored in Chemistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. A lover of the stage, Dr. Morgan performed in multiple theater productions while a student at Grinnell College and sang as a baritone with the Grinnell Singers. This college choral group performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 1996. After undergrad, he pursued an interest in the law, graduating magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in Seattle, Washington, in 2002. He also served as the Executive Editor of Lead Articles for the Seattle University Law Review in the 2001-2002 academic year. Contemporaneously, Dr. Morgan worked as a legal intern at a criminal defense and personal injury firm in Bellevue, Washington. After law school, Dr. Morgan moved to Yakima, Washington, where he worked as a consumer protection and personal injury lawyer until 2006 when he decided to return to his first love: medicine.

Dr. Morgan performed post-baccalaureate studies at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, to refresh his scientific knowledge to apply to medical school. Realizing that he may not have another opportunity to live abroad once he started medical school, Dr. Morgan took a brief detour to live in Japan from 2007 until 2011. After returning to the United States, he was accepted to Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakama, Washington. He served in multiple local, state, and national student leadership positions; and graduated in 2016. Dr. Morgan performed his residency at Michigan State University—Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After completing his residency in 2020, he finished a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2021. He then returned to Pine Crest Christian Mental Health Services to work as a general outpatient psychiatrist. He performs civil forensic evaluations and supervises residents.

Dr. Morgan lives in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area with his wife, three children, and savage Boston Terrier. He loathes yardwork but otherwise finds a strange satisfaction in home maintenance and repair. He enjoys reading books from the surprisingly related fields of finance and fantasy, playing overly complex European board games, running, bicycling, serving in his church, and spending time with his amazing wife and children. Dr. Morgan loves public speaking and is always open to the opportunity to share what he has learned with others.

Dr. Morgan discloses he has no relevant financial relationships with any organization producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients relative to the content of this presentation.
