Chris Paynter, DO

Dr. Chris Paynter earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Kansas City University – College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU-COM) in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency in Family Medicine with the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Paynter is a family physician at SSM St. Mary's Tipton Clinic in Tipton, Missouri. He is also the Associate Director of Central Missouri Hospice and the Regional Assistant Dean of Kansas City University. Dr. Paynter is board-certified in Osteopathic and Allopathic Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. 

Dr. Paynter is very active in the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and the Missouri Society of American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and has served on the board of both organizations. He is the President-elect for MAOPS for 2023-2024. In 2023, he received the MSACOFP DeRenna Sr, DO Appreciation Award from SSM Health. Dr. Paynter received the SSM Health Physician of the Year award in 2022. He also was the Honoree of Jefferson City's Magazine Ones to Watch in 2022. In 2021, he received the United Healthcare Patient Experience Hero Award.

Dr. Paynter and his wife, Cinthia, have three children: Vivianna, Miguel, and Josias. Dr. Paynter is a Christian, certified open-water diver, and a second-degree black belt. He is also a former personal trainer and medical technician.
